Clive Butler won the main competition, partnering Phil Bishop; they beat Ashley Hill and Neil Roberts. Brian Kirk won the Plate Competition with Brian Nithsdale.

The first match of the season versus the very strong Manchester Club with two glass-back courts. Brian Kirk, Robert Grey, Ashley Hill and Matt Orr found it difficult to cope with the very different courts and a strong Y Club IV, and they lost 78-168.

Matt Orr & John Beswick win, beating Chris Burrows & Bob Sandie in the Final. 22 players took part, with Stuart Kirby and Charlie Robinson seeded to reach the Final, but after a tough semi-final Chris (aged 16) and Bob took on the former several times National Doubles champion John Beswick and Matt Orr (aged 17, from Derby Moor Fives), losing 11-7, 11-5. Ashley Hill and Robert Grey, both of Derby Moor Fives, won the keenly contested Plate competition

Stuart Kirby and Emma Howie won the competition. For Stuart it is his first title - congratulations! For Emma, who won the competition last year with Bob Dolby, it completes the hat-trick of Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

We hosted this Tournament for the first time. Bob Dolby and Robert Grey got to the semi-final of the Doubles, and Robert was runner-up in the Singles to defending champion David Hebden.
Wednesday, April 5, 2006, St. Paul's School, Barnes, London
Ashley Hill was the first entrant ever in the competition from this school. He beat several Number Ones from fives-playing schools on the way to the semi-final, where he lost to the defending champion from Alleyn's - Peter Hanton.

Often a happy hunting ground for our senior players! Stuart Kirby and Brian Kirk won the Doubles Plate for the second year in a row, Stuart's third time of winning.

Our first School home game! Won 120-84. Playing for DMCSC were Ashley Hill, Ross Durnie, Waqar Khaleel and Anthony Goodwin. Singles: Hill bt Nichol 11-8; Durnie lost to Edwardson 5-11; Khaleel beat Milburn 11-9; Goodwin beat Spencer 11-6. Doubles: Hill & Durnie beat Nichol & Edwardson 11-8,11-8, beat Milburn & Spencer 11-0,11-5; Khaleel and Goodwin beat Milburn & Spencer 11-3,11-3, lost to Nichol & Edwardson 10-12,6-11.

Having won the Winchester Mixed Doubles last season, Emma Seaton has now added both the Winchester Ladies Singles and Ladies Doubles trophies to her collection at the recent competition held at Bradfield College.
